The "Z" Family

So, Michelle calls me up and tells me that her daughter wants to get into acting and would like some headshots. Her daughter wants to be a famous actress. She's got the personality for sure! While I was at their house, they decided they wanted to do a few family shots together. Is this family the cutest family ever? I just pulled some of their patio chairs out into the backyard and took a few. The sun was setting, the lighting was gorgeous and the subjects were great so all of that equals really good photos!

Handsome Devils

So, Steve called me up for some photos b/c he wanted to surpise his wife with something special for her birthday. He wanted to take some photos of him and their 2 little boys and have a photo framed to give her on her birthday. I thought that was so sweet of him to think of that...take note to any husbands out there reading this! Nothing like some great shots of dads and their boys...love it! This family has the Shipley Donuts on Brodie Lane so if you haven't tried them out...give them a whirl. They are so yummy! You can see some more shots of this family on my website. We did their family shoot in the donut shop last year and it was so fun and something different!

I'm Back From Vegas!

Going to Las Vegas for the WPPI convention was a whirlwind trip with days crammed pack of classes and tradeshow booths. I met up with some of the gals that I met last year at a photo workshop and once again we had a great time together! I saw so many great speakers who have grown their photography businesses into some Godzilla business and they just make your head spin with excitement to do the same. Needless to say, I found lots of cool products and services so stay tuned...there's going to be some big changes coming at Brandi Nellis Photography!!!

I'm heading to Vegas for a photography convention for the next few days. Yeah for me! I'm going to learn about all sorts of new and cool products as well as hit some new classes, too. I'll be out of the office from Sunday, February 15th through the 19th. See you when I get back.

Future Heartbreakers

I photographed these brothers recently and what a couple of cuties! We photographed them in the courtyard at their church. It's so cool. It has this HUGE oak tree that must be upteen years old that the kids love to climb. There's some great white stone arch ways and a really cool "official" looking bus that I had to work in the photos. The baby was such a happy little guy and rolled with the punches as mom changed him from outfit to outfit. He's recently started eating his own toes so they wanted some shots of that and I got an even better one...check out the last "toes" shot...too funny!

She Was A Tall, Cool Woman In a Black Dress

Ok, so she's not really tall and she wasn't wearing a black dress but she is REALLY cool. This is my mom-in-law. For all you gals out there that don't get along with your mom-in-law, I feel bad for you... b/c mine's the greatest!!! It hasn't always been that way though. In the beginning of me and Leroy's relationship I was scared to death of this woman. You see when Leroy and I started dating he still lived at home with his mom. I know, I know (that was a little hard for me to swallow at the time, too.) When I would stay over I'd try and creep out of the house at like 5:00am but the woman gets up before the crack of dawn so she'd always be sitting at the kitchen table doing her crossword puzzles and she would just peer over her little bifocal glasses and just watch me walk by. I KNOW personally the definition of taking the "walk of shame"! I'd just shutter as I walked by just waiting for her to pull her pistol out of her housecoat and put a bullet through me. She never did though. Those walks of shame grew into a loving relationship that we laugh about today. Here's to all those COOL mom-in-laws out there. By the way, she is not mourning the loss of her husband in some of these shots. Ha! She just owns enough hats to be considered English.

Rockstar!

I'm working on a couple of new products right now that I'm very excited about. So, I coaxed my boy into a photoshoot downtown so I'd have some shots to use in my new products. Since I haven't photographed him lately he agreed with not much complaining. I don't know what it is but this child doesn't like to be photographed...hmmm, could it be b/c he's had a camera in his face his whole life? Well, he'll appreciate it when he's grown! Our shoot went as they normally do...chaotic! I ended up with some really good shots of him and he got to play with his Pokemon and guitar during the shoot so we were both happy.
