Holly & Erik's Wedding

This is the wedding that we hauled rear across 5 states for...Holly & Erik. It was a very fun wedding in Atlanta, GA. The wedding was at a beautiful Catholic church with THE funniest, young priest I've ever met. And, the reception was at the Fernbank which is the Natural History Museum. It was so cool! While we ate our dinner and danced the night away there were 2 prehistoric dinosaurs lingering over us the whole night. Congrats to Holly and Erik. I hope they have a life filled with lots of love and laughter.

Warning:This Is What Can Happen On A 5 State Roadrip

A few weeks ago, we loaded up the minivan and drove across 5 states to get to one of our dear friend's wedding in Atlanta. We all know that the time can pass slowly at times. Well, we rely on scanning the radio alot and here's what can happen... By the way, I never said I COULD sing. I said I LIKED to sing. My favorite part is where I add in the fingersnaps toward the end. This clarifies that once a cornball always a cornball. Oh, and look how cute my sassy new haircut looks. :)Stay tuned for some cute photos from the wedding, too.

Cool New Product!

So, I've been working behind the scenes at Brandi Nellis Photography to come up with some cool new products and print sizes to offer. I have found this classic leather accordian album that holds 12 4x6 prints and makes for a great gift for dad's office or for the grandparents. The price of the leather accordian album...$85, the photos of loved ones inside...priceless! Ha! My poor attempt at advertising. Anyway, check them out below.

Our Little Trio

I recruited my crazy friend Jeff (who's also a photographer) to take some photos of our family b/c...well, we don't have very many. Jeff did a good job considering he's not used to photographing families...usually just hot male models. Man, having family photos done is chaotic people! The final product turned out cute but it took alot of work to get those AND it never fails that Jeff seems to always take our photos when it's 200 degrees outside with no wind. You can check out more of his work at www.jeffbrewster.net. Here's a few good ones...

The Walkers Walk Away From Texas

I photographed THE sweetest family this past week before they move to Arkansas. They wanted to preserve some memories in their home here in Austin and I think we did just that. We got some great shots of the family in front of their home and then some really fun shots of them all playing and running around in the backyard. I wish them well on their new journey they are embarking on.

Don't Put Dry Beans In The Microwave!

So, before we left for Atlanta my son told me that him and his buddy were going to put the dry beans from Vacation Bible School in our microwave for a "science project" at their sleepover we were hosting. I had told him that that would not be a good idea and that the microwave could BLOW UP. :) While I stepped out to run an errand and my husband stepped outside to wash the patio, the two scoundrels decided to try out their "science project". When my husband walked in the house a few minutes later...the entire house smelled of smoke, the microwave quit working and the two boys scattered from the microwave as soon as dad walked in. Hmmmm...we continued to let them have their sleepover but told Sloan that punishment would start the next day. Let me be clear on this part...the punishment was for not listening NOT for blowing up the microwave. We took ALL his toys out of his playroom and he had to earn them back one by one by completing chores. Now in the midst of all this hubb-ub (is that a word?) I decided while the playroom was empty I was going to paint it. We have been in this house for 6 years and I've been wanting to make that room super cute but it's just remained a rat hole filled with endless toys since we moved in. So, it's been an on going project for a few weeks but I finally finished it yesterday. Now, Sloanie wants to sleep in there b/c he loves it so much! In the end, all good came from the whole situation. Here's a few shots of the playroom empty before the painting started.

So, then it turned into a family affair and nearly a divorce when LeRoy helped paint the arch way over the steps. Lord, please forgive the insanity that happened at that point! Ha! I won't repeat all the profanity that happened during this time. And, Sloan helped out (not by choice) by vaccuuming the baseboards.

Finally, the finished product AND the whole family is happy again. By the way, the microwave didn't blow up thanks to the auto switch off built into the microwave. The moral to this story is don't put dry beans in the microwave unless you want to remodel your playroom!

I'm heading to Hotlanta!

We're off of on yet another 14 hour roadtrip...it seems to be the theme this summer. We've got a wedding in Atlanta and it's going to be fun to see some new territory driving East. I'll be back in the office on Thursday, July 24th and returning all calls and email then. Vroooom!
