Running With The "G" Girls!

Or should I say trying to keep up with the "G" girls!  Oh, what fun we had in their backyard.  We started the shoot with some nice, normal portraits on the front porch and it didn't take long for us to work our way to the backyard for some play time.  As always, they were as cute as ever and the emotions were all over the place...we had a big dose of happy, sad, mad, excited, playful and by the end Mom and Dad were exhausted.  Through it all, we got alot of great shots that capture who they are.  Enjoy!

Weathering The Rain

I had every spectrum of weather last week during my mini sessions...cool and breezy, sunny and sweating and yes, even rain showers on  Saturday.  We made the  most of it though b/c who knew when we all would've been able to find another date that worked for everyone.  What is up with October always being the busiest month of the year?  My families did great (even though they weren't crazy about their hair) in the rain.  They were good sports about working under covered areas and when the down pour would stop we'd run out into the open and take some photos.  Texas rain doesn't let out a little sprinkle it just opens right up and pours!  Everything is bigger in Texas...even the rain showers are dramatic!  Here's a few more mini sessions from last week...the "S" family.

And, here's the "T" family:

And, here's a few from this week...the "L" family.  I love it!  There is something to be said about raising boys and this mom knows all about it since she has 4!  I got a small dose of having 4 boys in my house this past week when our friends from Kentucky came to visit and they have 3 boys plus my one equaled 4.  My house was so lively and loud and I loved every second of it.  Their 2 younger boys would get up with me in the morning and talk to me while I fixed Sloan's lunch for school and they would tell me all sorts of hysterical stories which I'd really like to tell you but it's not really appropriate for my business blog. Hahaha!  All that to say, you gotta love having boys!  These guys were so cute and fun.

Downtown Mini Sessions In Full Swing & SOLD OUT!

We are in the full swing of things here at Brandi Nellis Photography and by "we" I mean "me"!  Well, that's not true...I've hired a girl, Haley, to help me edit photos and so she's working hard behind the scenes.  The downtown spot I picked ended up being a great location with lots of different options.  Last week was my first week down there and wouldn't you know WHILE we are shooting by the train tracks the city was putting up a chain link fence which now is shut and locked to block us from getting to the tracks.  Ugh!  The whoas of trying to find cool places.  The good news is there are lots of cool options down there so we're still good this week.  Here are a couple really cute shoots from last week.  I will post more when I can.  I'd like to shout out a huge thanks to all my great Austin families who keep supporting my small (but growing) business.  Thanks to you I sold out all 30 mini sessions this year!  WOOHOO!!!

Boy OH Boy!

I photographed this little guy last year when he had just turned one and here we are again at his 2nd birthday!!!  Where oh where does the time go?  He is still just as cute as a bug and was on the move during the entire shoot.  We just let him play and show us the ropes with his Thomas the Train and his soccer ball.  I got some really cute shots of the family just interacting together.  So, without further ado...here's our boy OH boy!

The Turtle Pond

Last weekend, I met this mom and her twin girls down on UT campus so that we could shoot at the turtlepond and use their cool architectural buildings.  Well, little did we know when we planned this shoot a few months ago that it would be the day that record attendance was broken for a UT home football game!  Holy cow!  I'm trying to find parking amongst 101,000 other people, haul my equipment across campus like cattle in a herd and on top of it all I got hounded by some drunk UT students to photograph them b/c they claimed, "They are THE biggest UT football fans of all time!"  Yeah, right!  Join the rest of the other 101,000 people and try to say that.  But, I did stop and photograph them and they were really cute and funny.  I need to dig that photo out and post it on here, too.  The funny thing was they didn't believe that I actually took their photo.  They thought I was just "acting" like I did.  Agh, to be a young, drunk, college student again.  It was entertaining.  Not only was my trip just getting to the shoot entertaining, my girls AT the shoot were so entertaining.  They are the cutest things ever with energy like no other.  I loved how they just wrestled, climbed, crawled and hugged all over their mom.  Without further adoo, here's my entertaining twins at the turtlepond.

And, here's the drunkards...
