BNP Thumb Drives!

Did you know that you can purchase your digital files from Brandi Nellis Photography, LLC? It's true! If you purchase all the retouched files from your shoot, I put them on an amazingly cool thumb drive. It's cool because it's my company's colors...hot pink and lime green and has my company logo stamped on it. If you're a guy, you may be thinking...hot pink, seriously? But guess what? The bright colors makes the thumb drive easy to find when you're digging for it in your desk! I have been buying my thumb drives from Photoflashdrive.com for a few years now and have been super pleased with their product. The pink polka dot box is the packaging I came up with for packaging my thumb drives. Look how cute they are!

An Austin Photo Expo!

I have neglected to share any of my personal life on the blog over the last few years because I have been going through a long and stressful divorce. I have gone through emotions that I forgot existed. One of the things you lose when you are under severe stress is your creativity. I learned the very hard way. I weathered through the last 2 years working my photo shoots but I definitely couldn't give the 110% that I usually like to give. I'd like to thank ALL my wonderful clients who weathered through with me and continued to support me and my business even when I know I wasn't possibly giving my work my all. I'll never be able to tell you all how grateful I am for your support of my business year after year. But now, the clouds have started to lift and I can feel the rays of sunshine on my face again and slowly but surely my creativity is crawling out of the nooks and crannies where it has been stuffed down for so long and I WANT to pick up my camera, I WANT to shoot colorful things, I WANT to make happy photos where people are laughing, I WANT to create beautiful images for my clients again! So, I asked my good photographer friend Stephanie if she'd like to go on a photo expo in downtown Austin one day and go have crazy fun shooting photos...just for ourselves! Today was the day. It was heavenly. We walked around downtown with our cameras and looked like real tourists in our city. I had a ball and I had fresh eyes today and it feels good to be alive! I'll post more later but here's a few shots from today. Hope you can see the happiness.

O' The Luck of The Irish!

I've got a client who used to send out Christmas cards but in the hustle and bustle of the holidays she didn't send any out last year. When the new year rolled around she called me and wanted to set up a shoot for the kids because she wanted to send out Valentine's Day cards instead. She told me that she wanted to start sending out cards on other holidays when most people wouldn't be expecting to receive a cute card from their friends or family. So, last year was Valentine's Day and this year she called me at the END of January and said, "I want to send out St. Patty's Day cards this year so we need to book a shoot!" I am loving this! It's so fun to plan the shoots and cards for these various "other" holidays. Since we got some really cute photos of her kids, I wanted to share a few!

Twin Senior 2016 Shoot

I photographed my first set of twin senior girls last week and they were so cute together! They were so sweet with each other especially when we did their sister shots together. They giggled together, held hands with out me asking them to and just hugged on each other. I might've over stepped my boundaries when I asked them to go nose to nose. It took them awhile to get there plus had a lot of laughing involved but made for some cute shots. Seeing their relationship, reminds me of me and my sister's relationship. While we may not have been that close in high school, we grew much closer in college when my big sis who was a junior took me under her wing when I was a freshman and showed me "the ropes" at Mizzou. We even signed up to take Geology together! Ha! We had our large lecture class together and then we signed up to have our lab together, too. That way we saw each other every day for class and then were able to study together for exams. Having that time together when we didn't have our small town friends around us to lean on helped our sister bond grow. When my sister graduated with a fashion journalism degree, she decided to go study at the Paris Fashion Institute for several months so we knew we wouldn't see each other for a long time and I will never forget that good bye. This was back in the day when you could actually walk your family and friends to their gate at the airport. Right before my sis loaded the plane I gave her a journal that I had started with entries and photos in it and then I wanted her to write about her European adventures in it and share it with me later. We both boo hooed like the biggest babies at the gate and could barely let go of each other. Life takes us on interesting journeys and it's always more fun to take those life journeys with your sister! These twins have many life journeys ahead of them and I'm sure they'll have fun doing them together.

Here's a shot of the journal I gave my sister to take to Paris and when she brought it back to me she had filled the entire journal with all her adventures
