I Call It A "Drive By"
There is nothing better than when you are photographing wee ones that don't want to be held anymore and just want to run around. Well, we had that with this shoot. The baby was cracking me up!
I love the very first photo that I titled, "The Drive By" because we had the family staged and ready to go by the doors but the baby didn't want to be over there. We played all sorts of games with her to coax her over by her family and eventually we got her with the family but the "in progress" shot is my fav. Plus, look how happy she is! It's like she's saying, "I'm freeeeeeeeeee!"
What a Saturday this turned out to be. The photos turned out great considering what I went through getting to the shoot. On my way to the shoot that morning, the hood (on my husband's car of course) FLEW UP while I was driving 70 mph on the highway and shattered my windshield! After I screamed bloody murder and figured out what had happened, I had to use the driver side window to guide myself to the shoulder. I told my neighbor it was like I had driven into a black garbage bag. At first I thought a huge piece of fabric had flown up from the side of the road and stuck to my windshield. Thank God I got pulled over safely and I'd like to thank all those Texas boys out there that did a "Drive By" that morning in their big pick up trucks for NOT stopping! What? Anyway, I had alot of fun at the shoot once I made it there and we got some really cute photos of the family. The baby also found a puddle that was in the alley way and her parents actually let her splash around in it and I was thankful b/c those are some of the most fun shots I've gotten recently. I love, love, love when moments like that happen in a shoot and the parents don't snuff it out. Here's The Drive By!

Guess Who's Back?
Another year has come and gone and I'm seeing all my regular kiddos that I photograph every fall for holiday photos. It's always amazing how much they've changed from the last time I've seen them. These two are no different. They are literally growing up before my very eyes. YIKES! As always, I love the cooperation and spirit that these two have. They are such sweet, sweet kiddos and I love them. Their mom always puts together a little more dressy outfit and then orders some fun tshirts off of Etsy to represent their birthdays/age. I think it's a great idea to always remember how old they were in the photos...brilliant! My favorite shot is of course the first one... Heeeeerrrrrreeeeee's Bali & Dylan!

Labradoodle Love!
I just want to squeeze this labradoodle! This not so little guy is only about a year old and was the sweetest thing. The boys just loved on him and I can see why. He was so excited to be at the park but did a great job of behaving and participating in the shoot. I love the bw shot of the family petting him and giving him love...it looks like he's really smiling and happy in that photo! This was another fun fall photo shoot with another great family.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat!
I had a great time photographing this extended family. It took us awhile to get everyone's schedule together but we did it! It was about 6 months in the making but I think the wait was worth it. We ended up going out to The Reserve and the setting was just perfect. Plus, it was so peaceful that we didn't have to worry about working around any other people. I managed to talk the guys into carrying the boat down to the water so we could use it in some of the photos...it turned out great! Here's the "C" family!

I'm Singing In The Rain
It was touch and go if this shoot was going to happen or not. The rain!!! We can't complain about the rain around here being that it hasn't done that in about 4 years and we're all drying up here. The weather was a real issue that day and we were on the horn back and forth not sure if the shoot was going to happen or not. Finally, they said they wanted to go for it! We met downtown for some urban shots and then headed over to the park for a few with some greenery in them. They all looked so cute in their blue, black and white outfits. I loved the chevron print mixed with the black and white striped sweater...how cool! They were a fun family to photograph and mom and dad had bit o' fun during the shoot, too. Take a look and see...
